The Shirley Collection The Gift Shop at Shirley Plantation is developing a line of discriminating gift and souvenir items which feature renderings of the home and items from the collection. Profits from the sales of these items go directly to support the ongoing preservation efforts and educational mission of the family. Newest to the collection from Brandywine®, based in Yorktown, VA, is our painted wood flat back collectible house, ornament and magnet. Another Virginia company, LDA is producing a souvenir collection based on a watercolor of the Great House by David Hughes. The collection includes a tote bag, coffee mug, magnet, tile trivet and biscuit mix. For the Staffordshire collector we have brought back our blue and white ceramic coaster and thimble. And, the cornerstone of our collection is still the pewter mint julep cup—an exact copy in pewter of a sterling silver beaker with the Carter family coat of arms engraved.
