Needlework

From a tender age, young girls were separated from boys and introduced to the housewifery roles into which they would mature. Chief among them was seamstress and needleworker. However, young women of affluence and high society, such as the Carter family, were not taught sewing and mending, but rather, the art of fine needlework including embroidery, cross-stitch and quilting.
The gift shop has a wide selection of needlework books, kits, finished samplers and reproduction needlework supplies for the old and young at heart.
