January 19th is the birthday of Robert E. Lee and in the year 2009 denotes the federal holiday in honor of the Reverend Doctor Martin Luther King, Jr.’s birth.
These 30-minute “Civil War to Civil Rights” tour brings to life the inspirational words of General Robert E. Lee and the Reverend Doctor Martin Luther King, Jr. Tour times are 10:45, 11:45, 12:45, 1:45 and 2:45 which will highlight the lives, careers, and visions of two of the most quotable men in United States history. “Civil War to Civil Rights” will explore the connections between these two men and the Carter family of Shirley Plantation. This tour is included in the price of admission. Regular admission is $11.00 for adults and $7.50 for youth. Discounts are available for AAA members, military, and seniors.
